An act of kindness sees Richard Mayhew catapulted from his ordinary life into a subterranean world under the streets of London. Stopping to help an injured girl on a London street, Richard is thrust from his workaday existence into the strange world of London Below.

BBC Radio 4 is airing a 6-part adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s Neverwhere. The work was adapted by Dirk Maggs and stars James McAvoy as Richard Mayhew. McAvoy’s credits include X-Men: First Class and television’s Shameless.

  1. Thanks so much for posting this! I jumped right onto the BBC site and started listening. I thought it was odd that episodes 1-5 were listed as being available for a year, but episode 6 (final episode) was only going to be available for a few days. That was motivation, indeed.

    I very much enjoyed it. Neil Gaiman & Ben Cumberbatch – hard to beat. OK, the rest of the cast is good, too, as if I noticed or cared much. šŸ™‚

    Again, thanks for highlighting it, and maybe they’ll decide to make the final episode available for a while longer, too.
