Frazetta Meets Tolkien

Frank Frazetta‘s 1975 portfolio of Lord of the Rings illustrations has recently resurfaced. Frazetta, best know for his book covers for Conan and other barbarian heroes, has a unique take on the J.R.R. Tolkien characters. To the right is Frazetta’s drawing of Eowyn meeting the Witch-King of Angmar.  Yes, Eowyn, who rode to the Battle of Pelennor Fields, disguised as a man.

  1. The Skeletronix link appears to be dead. I did find some of the Frazetta drawings at the Unofficial Frank Frazetta Fantasy Art Gallery.
